The old saying “keep your feet on the ground” held new
meaning for me today. I happened upon a video that explained the basic science
behind grounding. Scientists explain how our bare feet on the earth sends an
electrical charge through our bodies, which decreases inflammation, and
ultimately has the potential to heal our physical bodies. The problem is, we
insulate ourselves with our shoes and other protective gear, that keep us
completely separated from the vibrational frequencies of the earth, almost 100%
of the time.
We were created, designed to operate in conjunction with the
earth’s electrical vibrations. It is no coincidence that there are so many
pressure points on the bottoms of our feet…leading to every major part of the
body. And it makes a lot of sense why God would tell Moses…”Take off your shoes
from off your feet, for the place you are standing is Holy ground.” God wanted
him to respect his true connection to all God had created and intended for him
to absorb, feel, and understand.

I always thought of grounding as a spiritualistic concept only.
Humans have a way of separating the idea of the spiritual and the physical, as
if one is real and one is not. One is concrete, one is abstract. One is for
sure, the other uncertain. We swing back and forth between prayer and worry, between
fear and trust in God. But “a double minded-man is unstable in all his ways.”
GROUNDING brings it all together. It’s the binding tie
between the spiritual and the physical. There is no in between. All of life and
energy is one. God is one. We are one. God’s Spirit dwells in us, and He tells
us to “quench not the Spirit” in His Word. It is written, “It is God who works
in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Either we walk in
awareness of the spiritual nature of our bodies, or we do not. “For if we live
in the Spirit, let us walk in the Spirit.”
In order to be truly “down-to-earth,” one must become truly Spirit-filled,
Sprit-led. What this looks like on the outside can vary from person to person.
When we simply admit to ourselves that the world around us is united energetically
with the unseen, we become “grounded.” The truth sets us free. We come to understand
that all matter is in the state of vibration, and that God simply says, “Let
there be light”….and there is light. God’s voice IS THE VIBRATION. He sets all
things in motion.
Being truly down-to-earth means recognizing and accepting the reality of
spiritual, unseen things as a scientific reality. It means I live acknowledging
that God dwells in me and that I am not separate from Him because I reside in
the physical realm. It means I seek true healing and understanding through the
marriage of the seen and the unseen. I exist in both dimensions. I am alive. I
am a child of God.
